VISA Requirements

Malta is a member of the European Union and is in the Schengen area. Attendees travelling from within the Schengen area do not require a visa to enter Malta. Additionally, please refer to the list of third-countries (outside EU) whose nationals are not subject to the visa requirement when travelling to Malta.

Before travelling to Malta

Before travelling to Malta make sure to know if a visa is required. Typically, conference attendees who require a Schengen visa must check with their local consulate and embassies for more details. Please note where Malta has no Diplomatic Mission or Consular post, third-country nationals are obliged to apply for a visa at the following EU (European Union) Diplomatic Missions and Consular posts, which issue visas in representation of Malta. Supplementing an Invitation Letter

The Institute of Digital Games at the University of Malta provides a letter of invitation to the attendees that require it in order to attend the conference for their visa application. The letter will clearly state the date of the event, the organiser’s details including contact information, and confirmation of the attendee’s registration to attend the event at the event’s dates and location.
